Lewes DE: DelMarVa Chapter, First Day/First Hike in the First State Hike

Walk 2 miles around “the Point”. We will again be participating in the First Day/First Hikes sponsored by Delaware State Parks. The Point is located in Cape Henlopen State Park and is the area where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is closed for many months for nesting birds so this is a great time of the year to go!

We will meet at the Point Comfort Station parking lot. When you enter Cape Henlopen State Park, follow the signs for the Point. The walk is approximately 2-miles and mainly a walk on the beach. Unfortunately, there are no open bathrooms at the Point Comfort station. The closest bathrooms are at the Fishing Pier. Parking may be difficult since others will be participating. Carpool if you can.
