Troy MO: St. Louis Chapter, Cuivre River State Park Hike + Lunch

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
This hike will be in conjunction with the Way to St. James Global Camino Jan 10, 2026

We’ll meet at 9:00 AM at the Cuivre River Visitor Center parking lot. We’ll then hike the Old Schoolhouse loop trail which starts at the Hardy Road trailhead and winds around gentle hills along the southeast side of Lake Lincoln. The hike is approximately 3.8 miles. Total hiking time is approximately 2 hours, anticipating several stops for lake and scenery photo ops. We will be able to post our hike pictures on the Way to St. James Global Camino 2026 Facebook Page showing our Camino spirit and solidarity!

At the conclusion of the hike, we’ll drive to Zadock’s Family Restaurant in Troy for lunch and fellowship. The restaurant is a 7-minute drive from the park.

DIRECTIONS:
678 RT-147, Troy, MO 63379

From Hwy 70 near Wentzville, take Hwy 40/61 north toward Hannibal, MO.
Take ramp onto E Hwy 47 (MO-47 E) toward MO-47/Troy/Winfield. Go for 3.3 mi.
Turn left onto MO-147. Go for 1.8 mi.
Turn left on MO-147. Go for 0.3 mi. to the park entrance

This is an easy to moderate hike on packed earth trails and gravel paths.
