Pinckney State Recreation Area, MI; Southeast Michigan Chapter: Loop Trail Hike

Member Reggie Rodrigues will lead the hike.
The hike is approximately a 4.8 mile loop including the walk from the parking lot and back. We can make the hike shorter for those on a limited timeline.

The address should direct you to the parking lot.
Please look for the yellow arrow, where we will gather before the hike.
There is a large sign at the park entrance that indicates “Pinckney Recreation Area.” We will meet at the first parking lot, but walk to the second lot to begin the hike.
There is a rustic restroom near the parking lot where we will meet (pit toilet).

This loop is a pleasant walk that traverses hardwood forests, marshes, and grassy hillsides. Along the way, you pass three inland lakes, climb to 1,008 feet for a view of Crooked Lake, and plunge down a ridge forested in hardwoods that makes this path an especially scenic one in October.

You will need a Michigan DNR Recreation Passport Pass to park. If you don’t already have one, you can purchase a day pass at the gate or park office – about $10.
