Chapter Hike: Blue Jay Point County Park
OPTIONS: The park is on a peninsula on Falls Lake. We are going to walk around the peninsula in two sections of out-and-back hikes.
We will start from a trailhead near the Park Office and head north to a parking area off Six Forks Road. Since we are walking near the shoreline, there will be many views of Falls Lake. Approximate roundtrip distance is 4.3 miles;
After a brief rest stop back at the trail head (restrooms are nearby in the Park Office), for those wishing to extend their walk, we’ll get back on the trail in the other direction and walk to the other end of the trail within the park for an out-and-back distance of approximately 2.6 miles
Restrooms: There are restrooms off the parking lot.
Important phone numbers;
Park Office: (919) 870-4330
