Savage, MN: Minnesota Chapter, Murphy Hanrehan Park Reserve, MN: Training Hike & Marshmallow Roast

oin us for this moderately challenging 6-7 mile hike on compact dirt trails through beautiful and hilly Murphy Hanrehan Park Reserve. We will end around the bonfire ring for s’more making and pilgrim tales. While the total elevation gain is only about 600 feet, the regular up & down will give you a taste of what it’s like to hike in the foothills of the Pyrenees, Asturias or Cantabrian Mountains. This trail has pit latrines available every 3 miles.

There will be no drinking water available on the trail so please make sure you bring water on this hike. And even if you’re not wearing a pack, walking sticks may prove helpful on the hills. If you’d like something more substantial than s’mores afterwards, consider packing a sandwich or snack for yourself (you may leave it in your vehicle during the hike).
