Tramway 8-mile walk

This will be a walk of approximately 8.4 miles, done more for training and mileage than for the scenery. Although the scenery is beautiful as we can look to the east at the Sandias.

We will begin by meeting at 8:30 AM at La Salita Restaurant, 1950 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE. There is a parking lot on the SE corner of Juan Tabo and Brentwood Hills.

We will carpool up to the beginning of the walk which is by the Outpost Ice Arena, 9530 Tramway Blvd. NE. This should make it close to 9 AM when we start walking, hopefully a bit earlier.

We will head south along the Tramway bike path and stay on that path until Comanche, where we will turn east and then south into the Casa Grande Linear Park, coming out on Candelaria and heading west back to the Tramway bike path and south. We will cross Tramway at the pedestrian bridge near Rover, wind over to Brentwood Hills and end at La Salita Mexican Restaurant where we can eat lunch.

Bring your filled backpack if you are in training for a Camino. There will be a couple of opportunities to use a restroom along the way.

The walk itself will take about three hours, not accounting for stops to take a break or use a restroom. The elevation gain is 138 feet.

Dress appropriately for the weather, wear a hat, use sunscreen, bring water and snacks.

After lunch, we will ferry walkers who have cars up at the Outpost Ice Arena to pick them up.
