Delafield, WI: Southern Wisconsin Chapter, Lapham Peak Snowshoe and Ski

ADDRESS/DIRECTIONS: We are hiking in the Lapham Peak Unit of Kettle Moraine State Park. We will meet at the Evergreen Parking Shelter.

Lapham Peak is just south of Delafield, approximately 25 miles west of Milwaukee and 50 miles east of Madison along Interstate 94.

Take exit 285 County Road C/Genesee street exit south for one mile. We will meet at the Evergreen Parking shelter. The Evergreen lot is the lower parking lot at Lapham and is the first right after the DNR entrance building. A map that shows the lot is HERE (https://maps.app.goo.gl/aEg5eSYF7WCU9YMX6).

STICKER AND PASS REQUIREMENTS: A state park car sticker is required. Cross country skiers (and anyone with skis visible inside their car) will also need a separate state trail pass (available daily or yearly). Trail passes are not needed for hikers/snowshoers.

THE HIKE: We will plan on hiking/snowshoeing about 5 miles. Those wishing to ski will be on a separate trail system. Afterwards we will meet up at the Evergreen shelter for tapas.

WHAT TO BRING: Tapas, wine, or other drinks to share. We will provide the plates, forks, cups, and napkins. Peter F. has volunteered to stay behind and watch our food/drinks in the shelter during the event.
