We recommend meeting is at 7:30 AM MDT at Ted's Place (Corner of Hwy 14 & Hwy 287); Trail head is the North Lone Pine about 10 miles west of Red Feather Lakes at 4576 Deadman Rd, Red Feather Lakes....but trail head parking is not plentiful, thus we recommend meeting at Ted's Place.

Come join us for a hike in Roosevelt National Forest west of Red Feather Lakes There is no toilet at the trailhead. Dress in layers with a brimmed hat. Bring water and a snack. Afterwards, if interested, folks can go visit the Deadman Fire lookout a few miles west of the trail head. For those that would like to join us after the hike for lunch and/or drink, we’ll meet at the Forks in Livermore. They have a nice bar / restaurant on the 2nd floor of the historic building.

Please remember: NO pets allowed, per American Pilgrims on the Camino policy.

What you Need to Know:

What: A 9.0 moderate out-and-back hike with a 1,100 foot elevation gain. We will only go as far as desired.

Where: North Lone Pine Trailhead: About 10 miles west of Red Feather Lakes at 4576 Deadman Road, Red Feather Lakes or meet at Ted’s Place for Carpooling (which is the preferred option to meet as there is limited parking at the trailhead)

When: Saturday, July 27th @ 8:30 AM MDT, at the Trailhead. But we recommend meeting is at 7:30 AM MDT at Ted’s Place (Corner of Hwy 14 & Hwy 287). Expect to hike 2 – 4 hours max and then go to the Fire Tower followed by a trip to the Forks in Livermore of post-hike food and libations and talk.
