Tijeras, NM: Albuquerque Chapter, Otero Canyon Hike

DESCRIPTION: This hike is approximately 5.5 miles with an elevation gain of 610 feet. Considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 hours to complete. This is a loop trail, starting in Otero Canyon, continuing onto Gnasty with a G, and returning on Blue Ribbon. If you have time, make plans to stop for a bite to eat at Roots Cafe on 337 after the hike.
Other information: Many parts of the trail have loose rocks; bring poles if you like, and plenty of water, a hat, sunscreen, etc.
