Spokane, WA: Spokane Chapter, Palisades Park Loop Trail

Location

Directions: From 1-90 in west Spokane, take Maple-Walnut exit 280 and head north on S. Walnut Street. Go two blocks and turn left (west) on W. 2nd Avenue. Go 1 mile staying in the right lane of the arterial as it becomes W. Sunset Boulevard, on Government Way. Turn right (north) on Government Way and drive 0.7 mile. Turn left (west) on W Greenwood Road. Drive 1 mile on Greenwood, bearing right at the fork with S. Indian Canyon Drive. Parking is on the left, with trailhead and additional parking up S. Rimrock Drive to the right.

4.1 mile loop on double track

Walking time: 1 ½ hours – 2+ hours (with add-on Mystic Falls walk: as a group, we can decide if we want to add the Waterfall Trail (1.1 miles), south of the Rimrock parking area.

Difficulty: Easy

Bring: Water, snack, clothing for the weather, poles if you wish, and grips if you wish (although snow should be gone on Rimrock Drive, and perhaps only a few patches getting down to the waterfall.
Parking: NO pass required. On the left, with trailhead, and additional parking up S. Rimrock Drive (we’ll attempt to park in first lot). Watch for Spokane Chapter flag or sign. We’ll meet at 8:30 and start walking at 8:45.

Coffee visit after the hike: starting at 11-11:15 AM for coffee at Rocket Bakery (1325 W 1st Ave, Spokane, WA 99201). Note there is metered parking outside–bring change or pay with the parking app, ParkMobile.
