Washington, DC: Capital Area Chapter, Rock Creek Hike

We will meet at the Pierce Mill Picnic Area (Grove 1 Picnic Area – the intersection of Tilden and Shoemaker Streets NW) and start hiking at 9am. No RSVP necessary. We are planning on an 11-mile hike north along the Valley Trail, up to Boundary Bridge where we will break and have a snack. We will return along the West Ridge Trail.

This is a longer vigorous hike, total estimated time is about 6 hours. If you prefer not to go the full distance there are multiple points you can leave the trail. There is a restroom at Pierce Mill and the nature center should be open as well. Please bring plenty of water as there is not an opportunity to refill water along this route.
