Distance: 6 miles for this easy scenic loop; the hike will begin at 8:30 am.

Granite Mountain Loop is one of the best places to see wildflowers in the Valley. The trail is mostly sand and fine gravel, very comfortable to walk on with almost any kind of walking/hiking shoes. Total distance is about 6 miles in flat/undulating terrain, with 400 ft. of very gradual elevation gain. Your hike leader will point out Barney Rock, Cross Rock, an Indian Maiden and the Friendship Circle along with a crested cactus (yes she made up all the landmarks except the crested cactus is real).

There are restrooms but no water at the trailhead so bring your own water, along with poles (optional), sun protection, first aid and nutrition. We will be sharing the trail with mountain bikers, other wildflower seekers and horses so pack your Camino spirit.

All our hikes and activities are planned & led by volunteers and donations are appreciated to support the chapter. If you are a member of the American Pilgrims on the Camino and interested in leading a hike or walk, please contact us at phoenix@americanpilgrims.org.

Please stay home if you are feeling sick. No dogs on group walk due to chapter liability.
