This Moderate to Difficult round trip hike is 6 miles out & back with approx. 500 ft. elevation gain.
The Adero Canyon area is a beautiful part of the Valley – tucked between Fountain Hills & Scottsdale. The hike starts on the Promenade Trail to the Western Bike Trail before accessing the Andrews-Kinsey Trail in the McDowell Mountain Preserve. Within the first mile we will enter the Scottsdale Sonoran Preserve and climb some switchbacks up to a junction with the Sunrise Trail, which will be our turn around point. This should be another great hike to see wildflowers & birds.
There are restrooms but no water at the trailhead so bring your own, along with poles (optional), sun protection, first aid and nutrition. We will be sharing the trail with mountain bikers and other wildflower seekers, so pack your Camino spirit.
All our hikes and activities are planned & led by volunteers and donations are appreciated to support the chapter. If you are a member of the American Pilgrims on the Camino and interested in leading a hike or walk, please contact us at phoenix@americanpilgrims.org.
Please stay home if you are feeling sick. No pets on group walk due to chapter liability.
If you are running late the day of the hike, please call Traci Parent Nelson – 612-270-6081.
