Phoenix, AZ, Valley of the Sun Chapter, Valentine’s Day Fat Man’s Pass Hike

Coffee @ 8:00am and Hike starts at 8:45am. Join us for both or only one!

Give yourself some love and/or invite someone you love for this must-do hike to Fat Man’s Pass and Hidden Valley. We will start on the Mormon Trail and go 1 mile up to the saddle. We will then connect with National Trail to Fat Man’s Pass. Going through Fat Man’s Pass to Hidden Valley requires 3 areas of bouldering but is worth the bending, sliding and maneuvering. Hidden Valley is a half mile peaceful detour with its own soul magnet and a delightful tunnel (tunnel of love even?) at the end. We will return the way we came making this a balloon shaped hike (picture a balloon on a string).

Total distance: 4 miles; Elevation gain: +958 ft. (most in the first mile so we will pace ourselves)

Time: 2.5 – 3 hours due to climb, clamber and photo opps.

There is NO water & restrooms at the trailhead. Bring toilet kit, poles, hat, plenty of water and a snack. We will enjoy our snack overlooking one of the best views in Phoenix.
