Voila! Via Podiensis, a French Camino Route
Bonjour! We hear a lot about the Camino routes of Spain & Portugal, but many of the other hundreds of routes cross France on the way to Santiago de Compostela. One of which is the Via Podiensis. It originates in Le Puy en Velay, France, and ends at St. Jean Pied de Port. Come join us on Wednesday, Jan. 18th at 6:00 PM, for a Zoom presentation on the popular Le Puy route, presented by Dave & Monica.
The Le Puy route brings to mind Camelot, St. Joan of Arc, a fascinating cornucopia of UNESCO towns, history, art, foods, and the Pilgrims, who have walked this route since the 12th century. Join us as the route leads us down a canyon wall to the small quaint medieval village of Conques; to a day walking along the Moissac canal; then across the Basque farm country to Ostabat; ending in St. Jean Pied de Port.
The Camino is always, walk, eat, sleep; walk, eat, sleep; and doing it in France is an ever-changing day by day experience. Come join us, invite a friend, but be prepared as attending this presentation could leave you with an overwhelming urge to do the Via Podiensis Camino.
Mark your calendar for Weds. Evening, 6:00 PM PST, Jan. 18th, if you haven’t walked a Camino, like Spain, the basics are the same for a French Camino; if you have walked a Camino, come learn about a popular route on the other side of the Pyrenees.
Advance online registration is required. Register by Wednesday January 17th. We will distribute the Zoom link to those signed up by that date.
