Wellington CO: NOCO Branch, Hike at Soapstone Prairie Open Space

We have another hike for Saturday, April 26, 2025! This one is in the NOCO Branch of the Chapter!
Soapstone Open Space: Mahogony/Towhee Loop Trail:
Saturday. April 26, 2025
Please join fellow pilgrims on a hike in the Soapstone Open Space area on Saturday 04/26/2025. SOS is located up near the Wyoming border at the end of CR 15. We will meet at the trailhead at 0900 hours. Anyone wishing to carpool with Mark please reach out and plan on being at his house at 0800 hours – room for 3. There is little to no shade up there so plan accordingly with sunscreen and cover; and bring plenty of water and snacks for energy. We will do a 5-7 mile moderate hike depending on final route selection. Post hike activities can include a stop at Soul Squared brewery in Wellington, which is right off I 25 for anyone coming up from Denver.
To travel from Wellington to Soapstone Prairie Natural Area, take CR 9 north to CR 82 west to CR 15 north, then Rawhide Flats Road north to the entrance station at 22998 Rawhide Flats Road, Wellington, CO
No dogs allowed, per American Pilgrims policy
