Tulsa, OK: Okies on Camino, Park to Park Hike: Gathering Place to Turkey Mountain Shakedown

Are you leaving on Camino this spring or summer? Do you want to test out your gear and your hiking legs in a realistic simulation of a day on the Camino? Join us on an urban shakedown hike between two of Tulsa’s best parks!

This hike is between 11.5 and 12.5 miles. We will depart promptly at 9AM and plan to have a picnic lunch between 11:30 and 12:30 at Turkey Mountain before returning. This is an urban hike so many miles of the walk will be following Riverside Park pathways next to the road. The hike will take place in sun or rain but will be canceled if severe weather or winter weather is forecast.

We recommend wearing your gear and packing your pack like you plan to for the Camino. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and a picnic lunch. Hydration and light snacks will be provided at the Turkey Mountain Picnic stop. Richard will be on hand to help you adjust your packs and answer questions. If 12 miles seems daunting, consider having someone pick you up at Turkey Mountain for a nice 6 mile hike instead!
