Join us for a late-afternoon walk along Richardson’s Bay to Tiburon, then a picnic dinner while watching the sunset, followed by a moonlight walk around Belvedere Island in the dark with wonderful views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate.

Schedule: Meet us at 4:30 PM at the restrooms near the Blackie’s Pasture parking lot outside of central Tiburon. We’ll have a sunset picnic dinner in Tiburon and expect to arrive back at the parking lot around 9:30 PM.

Level of Difficulty: Moderate. Mostly flat, paved paths with a total distance of 9 miles and total elevation gain of around 600 feet. If you haven’t started training yet or just getting started, we strongly recommend first joining one of our monthly Lake Merritt walks and/or getting more hiking experience on your own. Being comfortable with walking/hiking 6-8 miles with inclines is a good measure. As this is a night hike in the dark, it is necessary to keep pace with the group for safety and for the enjoyment of all participants.

Advance online registration is required. Click the Register button to sign up. Because space is limited, please register if/when you are certain you can attend. Thank you!

Cancellation: If you are unable to attend, please email us as soon as possible at norcal@americanpilgrims.org so we can offer your space to someone else.

Getting There: Take the Tiburon exit from Hwy 101 in Mill Valley. Drive east 1.8 miles on Tiburon Blvd (SR 131) and turn right onto Blackie’s Pasture Road to the free parking lot. Walk about 100 yards eastward along the paved path along the bay towards Tiburon to the meeting spot at the public restrooms.

Carpooling: On the registration form is a link to an online “Carpool Bulletin Board” to post a message if you need a ride or can give one.

What to Bring: Comfortable shoes for pavement walking and wind breaker/light jacket. Optional: flashlight for the moonlight walk (not necessary). Picnic dinner that’s easy to carry (e.g., sandwich, sushi, etc.) and water/beverage. You might also bring a dessert or snack to share! Tip: leave a bottle of water in your car for your trip home.
