Camino Training Walk

The walk will be in two parts, with a total distance of 15.2 miles, which is a typical daily distance on the Camino, with the option to walk only the morning portion of 9.2 miles or just the afternoon 6 mile walk.

We will begin at Lynn Newbry Park in Talent, and walk south to the Ashland Dog Park, then head back to Lynn Newbry for lunch. The distance of this portion is 9.2 miles.

After lunch, those who are up for more walking will head north to Blue Heron Park in Phoenix, which is 3 miles from Lynn Newbry Park. The distance of this portion is 6 miles.

Total distance of both portions will be 15.2 miles, which is a fairly typical daily distance on the Camino. Plan on ~7 hours to complete the total walk with lunch and other breaks. Total walking time should be about 5 hours.

If you would like to do only the afternoon portion of the walk meet us at Lynn Newbry park – we should be back from Ashland about 12:30.

Bring a picnic lunch, water and sunscreen.

After the walk we will visit one of the local wineries.

If you are almost ready to start your Camino and have your backpack ready, bring it for a pack critique by veteran pilgrims.
