San Marcos, TX: Alamo Chapter, Purgatory Creek Hike

This hike will begin on the Upper Purgatory.

Time: Meet at 8:00 AM, for an expected start time of 8:30 AM.

Meeting Place:
The free dirt Parking Lot in the northeast part of the Natural Area. The exact address of that Parking Lot/Trailhead is 1753 Valencia Way, San Marcos, Texas. It is off of Highway 12/Wonder World Drive, and you turn left at the corner of Hwy 12/Wonder World and Craddock Avenue, then a right after that onto Valencia.

Hike Description:
The loop is about 5 miles. The terrain is rocky but pretty level, with just slight uphill/downhill. It’s a wooded area for most of it. It’s not terribly crowded. There is a restroom but no water so bring plenty of water and snacks. Poles would be useful.
