Parkton, MD: Central Pennsylvania Chapter, Gunpowder Falls Hike

This is just one of the many trails in the Hereford Gunpowder Falls State Park Area. Along the way, hikers will encounter rolling hills, some logs and rocks here and there, and small stream crossings too! Overall, this is a fun single track that runs along the Gunpowder Falls with beautiful views. Very similar to the Gunpowder South Trail (White), this trail hugs the Gunpowder Falls closely, so watch your step as you hike right along the water during various portions of the trail. Keep you eyes open out there for deer, heron, eagles and other birds as well. This is a great trail as an out-and-back or it can be combined it with the many other trails to make a beautiful loop.

There are NO open restroom facilities on or near the trail. It is strongly suggested that you use the Shrewsbury exit gas stations on I-83. Below you will find the information that we send for last year’s hike.
