Meet at the Alameda Open Space Parking lot, south side of Alameda, east of the Rio Grande.
Start the New Year with a gentle walk through the Rio Grande Bosque along the river, 2 – 2.5 hours beginning at 10 a.m. Flat terrain. RSVP appreciated so we know you are coming.

Meet at McDowell Nature Preserve - 15222 York Rd, Charlotte. Once in the park, follow the main road to the parking lot at the waterfront (same place as last year). Look for our attractive new chapter flat marking our meeting point.
The Hike: There are a dozen trails at McDowell, allowing a number of training distances. Our group will cover about 7 miles, and we can arrange a shorter trail for those that are looking for a lighter day.
