Gather ‘round pilgrims for Camino Storytime! In the simplest of terms, storytelling is the art of sharing stories. It’s an activity “as old as time” and universal – found across all cultures and levels of society because stories are a language that everyone can understand. They inspire, teach, entertain and bring people together. For these reasons, we invite you to join us in this series of storytime hours. Each session features two pilgrims sharing their personal experiences along with photos on a route or topic. Come see the Camino through someone else’s eyes. And who doesn’t love listening to stories from the Camino?

We’ve scheduled three storytime hours for the month of June. Each takes place online in our Zoom meeting room and requires a separate registration. Feel free to attend any or all of the sessions.

Session 1: Tuesday, June 2, 7:00 – 8:15 PM

Sandra Carrillo-Wright shares how she brought her two school-age boys on the Caminos Francés and Portugués so that they could learn, explore and dream and in the process, how they all found compassion, grace and each other.

Guy Joaquin shows how every day on the Camino Primitivo was like walking through a Lord of the Rings movie set and how he was reminded that it’s about the people you meet along the way.

Jeffrey Hine and Kristine Lam bring us over to Italy for their walk from Siena to Rome on the Via Francigena and share their thoughts of this route and how it differs from the Camino de Santiago.

Gwojen Fung shares how she found life on the Vía de la Plata to be fun, relaxing and very simple with hardly any other pilgrims, but lots of animals!
