Lithonia, GA: Atlanta Chapter, Hike at Arabia Mountain, April Hike

The Atlanta Chapter's April Hike of the Month will be at Arabia Mountain.

Note, this is the same address as the AWARE center, but please do not block their parking spots or driveway.

A little about the area - it is the site of a former granite quarry and also has some unique plant life. The first section will be to the top of the mountain which offers a spectacular view. From there we will follow the blue-blazed trail around the lake, and remain mostly in the shade. Don't worry about the title "mountain" there is only an elevation change of about 200 feet. The path planned will cover roughly 4 miles.

Please bring water and dress for the conditions! There are no facilities once we leave the parking lot.

We will meet at the parking lot at the base of the mountain. However, parking is EXTREMELY limited, so please carpool if walking with someone in your bubble. If this lot is full, there is a second lot less than a mile up the road. We can shuttle people between the two if the need arises. Because of the parking situation, we will need a solid head count so please remember to RSVP.
