Brazos Bend State Park Hike
Friday, March 25, 2022
Meet at 40 Acre trailhead at 10:00 a.m.

Join the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter in Brazos Bend State Park for a training hike!

Starting at 40 Acre Lake, we will piece together an 8-9 mile loop that includes Elm Lake, Horseshoe Lake Loop and Big Creek Loop. This is moderate terrain with some roots and rocky areas so wear good walking shoes and walking poles may come in handy. Some sections of the trail may be under construction, so we may need to improvise.

There are restrooms at the start and along the way. Take water & snacks for the couple of breaks we will take. Take a picnic lunch for enjoying with the group after the hike at the many picnic tables within the park.
It is highly recommended that you reserve a day pass online.

Brazos Bend State Park is about an hour south of downtown Houston.

Enter the Park and show your reserved day pass at Headquarters. Drive a short ways to the parking area at 40 Acre Lake.

We plan on starting (clockwise) on the 40 Acre Lake Trail head promptly at 10:00 a.m.

Estimated hiking time 3 to 4 hours.

Please no dogs on Chapter hikes.

Please RSVP by filling out this form.

Looking forward to a fun hike with you!
