Gardners Pa: Central Pennsylvania Chapter, Monthly Gathering at Pine Grove Furnance State Park

For our July gathering we will be meeting on
Saturday 7/27 at 9:30 at Pine Grove Furnace State Park in the pavilion below the Appalachian Trail Museum near the parking lot and the bathrooms. After we gather we will be visiting the museum to explore the only museum in the US dedicated to hiking. Here is the website for you to check it out in more detail https://www.atmuseum.org/

If time permits and people are interested we will then do a hike through the park to the trail head of pole steeple, a lovely rather strenuous hike up to the top of the ridge. There are many alternatives to this option as we can walk as far as we want, turn around, and come back to fuller lake for a dip in the lake. Bring some food to share and we can have an impromptu picnic. I intend to be there, but until I get my new knee later this year, it is the museum, a flat walk, good company with you all maybe a dip in the lake and food for me.
