Come join novice and experienced pilgrims for this 4.1 lollipop (out and back with a loop at the farthest end) walk. Expect views of the mountains while walking alongside a series of ponds that are a remnant of gravel mining in the area. Birds are abundant and we might even spot a bald eagle. We will pass the ruins of Strauss Cabin, one of the oldest cabins in the area. There is no elevation gain and most of the trail is dirt-packed. There is a restroom at the trailhead and an outhouse at the start and end of the lollipop loop. Dress in layers for cooler, winter temperatures, including a knit cap and/or hood with mittens and/or gloves. It might be breezy or windy, especially around the largest pond where there are fewer trees to slow the wind. Bring water. And you may want your Ice-trekkers or YakTrax if it is snowy or icy….And if you typically use poles, bring them too!
