Dickerson, MD: Mid-Atlantic Chapter, Sugarloaf Mtn Hike

Chapter Coordinator, Holly Steussy will lead the Mid-Atlantic Chapter on a ~6 mike hike at Sugarloaf Mountain. This hike is a moderate level of difficulty due to roots, rocks and an elevation of 1,282 ft.

Meet at 9:00 AM at the west parking lot. We will meet at the shelter to hike on the red, white and green trails (see trail map here). Portable toilets are available at the parking lot at the beginning and end of the hike. Bring a snack if needed and plenty of water. The hike should take about 3 hours.

Directions:
From Washington DC: Go North on Route I-270 to the Hyattstown exit, circle under I-270 and continue on Route 109 to Comus, then right on Comus Road to the Sugarloaf Mountain entrance.

From Frederick: Follow Route I-270 South to the Hyattstown exit, follow Route 109 to Comus, then right on Comus Road to the Sugarloaf Mountain entrance.

From Rockville/Bethesda: Take Route 28 West of Rockville to Dickerson, then after passing under the railroad bridge, turn right on Mt. Ephraim Road and go 2.5 miles to Sugarloaf Mountain entrance.
