For its first in-person event in more than a year, the Front Range Chapter is going to walk a section of the High Line Canal in Aurora with a loop through Fairmount Cemetery, arguably Denver’s most historic cemetery. Although embedded in the city, this section of the trail is surprisingly tranquil. The trail is essentially entirely asphalt with a bit of concrete.

Fairmount Cemetery is the final resting place of Denver’s history and our turnaround will be a loop through the cemetery visiting an assortment of interesting residents! Details TBD.

We’ll be meeting near Expo Park which is near the intersection of Havana Street and Alameda Avenue in Aurora — the specific location will be provided upon receiving your registration request. We’ll walk basically southwest (upstream), take a loop through Fairmount Cemetery and then we’ll regain the High Line back to the trailhead making a total of about 6 miles round trip.

Given that we’re not sure what COVID restrictions will be at the end of May, we are preliminarily limiting this event to 15 people. First to respond, first on the list! (We’ll keep a wait list.) This is the LINK. We’ll be following whatever COVID restrictions and recommendations are in effect at that time. We’ll send out a reminder about 24 hours prior to the event.

Note that the event time is 9:00 AM MDT.
