Chapter member, Jim LaRocco, will lead a 9-mile hike along the Potomac Heritage Trail on Sunday, February 2 at 10:00am. The hike will take approximately 6 hours with a lunch break at Fletcher’s boat house. The starting location will be the parking lot at 2722 N Marcey Road, Arlington, VA. Marcey Road is off Military Rd; follow signs for Potomac Overlook Park. We will meet in the lower parking lot.

This hike is a bit more adventurous, especially for the first half. Poles are suggested, as some sections may be slippery and include climbing over rocks. We are a supportive group that welcomes all fitness levels and will help each other along the way!

The route will begin at the parking lot at Marcey Road, proceed to the Chain Bridge, then across it to the C&O towpath to Georgetown, then over the Key Bridge to connect to the Potomac Heritage Trail and back to the start.

Bring your own water, a hearty snack or packed lunch and can-do spirit. Restrooms are available at the start and at Fletcher’s Boat house. If 9 miles is a bit much for you, feel free to stash a car or take a Lyft/Uber from the halfway point at Fletcher’s Boat House. Hope to see you there!
