This is rather last minute, but the Albuquerque Chapter is inviting you for a walk along the North Valley Ditches for an hour or two on Wednesday, March 17 from 10 a.m.-12 noon. Meet at the end of Cherokee, which is just west of Rio Grande north of Candelaria, just north of the bus stop on Rio Grande. The plan is to walk north to Montano, following the irrigation ditches, turn west, cross the clear ditch, and head onto one of the bosque trails along the river, down to the Rio Grande Nature Center, through the Center grounds then along Campbell Road and Veranda to meet up with the ditch that will take us north to our cars. We will look for signs of spring along the way and even get a look at the Rio Grande. Wear sturdy shoes, a hat, mask, sunscreen, and bring some water. Distance is slightly over 3 miles.
