Bring cash or use your Open Space annual parking pass. Go to the right around the loop road and park on the far east side where Pino Trail #140 begins. The hike will be approximately 6 miles in length. We will start on the Pino Trail, then head north toward the tram staying in the foothills. After trail #140, we will change to trail #230 and then walk in a wilderness area in the foothills. We will walk to the water tank which is next to the tram.
Our return trip will retrace part of the wilderness area trail and then head back to the parking lot on the Foothills Trail, #365.
There is around a 700-foot elevation gain. Hiking poles are optional, but there are significant areas of rocky trails to traverse. Wear a hat and appropriate clothing for the weather. Bring sunscreen, water, and snacks. There are restrooms by the parking lots. This hike should take about 3 hours to complete.

Charles asks that participants refrain from discussing politics while on the hike. Relax and enjoy your surroundings!
