Did you know that the University of Nevada Reno (UNR) houses the largest Basque collection in the world, outside of the Basque Country? We hope you will join us to learn about and celebrate the Basque culture you will encounter along the Camino de Santiago. The Jon Bilbao Basque Library at the University of Nevada, Reno (Renoko Euskal Liburutegia) aims to be a research library for all researchers interested in Basque Culture and the Basque Diaspora, a memory institution for the Basque Community throughout North America, and a comprehensive portal to access Basque studies in English for researchers and institutions. We will start our event with a private tour of the Center for Basque Studies and the Jon Bilbao Basque Library. Our host and presenter will be Mr. Iñaki Arrieta Baro, Head Librarian at the Jon Bilbao Basque Library. Mr. Arrieta Baro will talk to us about what we can expect to see, hear, and taste in the Basque Country, with a focus on what we should notice along “the way.” He will then give us a tour of the extensive Basque collection housed in the Jon Bilbao Library and answer any questions we may have.

Following the tour, we will drive to Louis Basque Corner, located at 301 E 4th Street, Reno, NV 89501, on the corner of Evans and East 4th Street where we will enjoy a family-style Basque lunch.
