 kes the last two months. For October\, we'll take it a little easier by 
 walking the trails at and around Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens \nThisÂ
  all-natural trail surface is well maintained\, but you can expect a few
  areas with minor roots to avoid. While hiking poles are not necessary\,
  you may find them useful in some areas. Expect a walk of about 10km (6.
 2 miles)\n\nOur starting point will be in the parking lot at the Botanic
 al Gardens. Restrooms are available in the Visitors Center after the 10a
 m opening.\n\nWe'll finish our hike at the Trailhead Store\, the coffee 
 shop at the Gardens. In addition to coffee\, they offer an assortment of
  other beverages along with fresh to-go meals\, including sandwiches\, 
 wraps\, salads\, parfaits\, vegan options and desserts. If you stick ar
 ound\, Pickin' on the Porch will be from 2:00-4:00pm that afternoon. \n
 \nThis is the former Seven Oaks Trail\, recently renamed for the late Du
 ke Kimbrell\, a Gastonia native\, noted textile industry leader and an a
 ctive benefactor to many civic organizations.
