When I first walked this hike I thought of you all – a little of the Portuguese, a little of the Frances – but all Tucson. So here is the scoop – it is an out and back which starts in the center of Summerhaven. Total distance is just shy of 6 miles with 1200…

This is a very scenic 4.6 miles loop with 800′ of elevation gain. Afterwards, for those who would like to join, we will have lunch at “Coyote Pause Cafe,” which is about 4 miles away, on Kinney Rd.

Meet at the base of the Hill on W. Anlam Rd, just across the street from St Mary’s Hospital. It’s a steep 3.5 miles round trip; a good cardio workout! We usually go for coffee afterwards.

This is a 7.5-mile round trip with some elevation. Bring plenty of water and a snack for when we pause at the top to rest.

We will gather in the parking lot at 6:15a, if going to mass at 6:30a. Otherwise, be at the Cathedral parking lot by 7:15a for a 7:30a departure. The distance is 10 miles (one way) over a relatively flat surface except for an area where we will need to traverse a culvert via a ladder…

As we walk, we watch the sun rise. At the top we do our traditional Photo op, head back down and go for coffee.

This is a 7 1/2 mile (round trip) walk. We reach an elevation of about 700 feet. We make a brief stop at the top to rest and snack, before heading back. Bring a sufficient amount of water to stay hydrated, and a snack for energy.

We gather, we bring our own beverage of choice, and if you would like to bring a breakfast snack to share, it is always appreciated.

I seem to be on a kick of introducing you to new hikes – so enough with a normal October saunter! We are going to give Mt. Lemmon another go – lower areas of Mt. Lemmon though. We will walk from Gordon Hirabayashi Campground into Sycamore Canyon. The out and back trail is 5.5 miles…
